Trustees for 'Mrs Spooner' appear to have been awarded part of the compensation for the Islington estate in St Mary Jamaica.
Elmina Spooner (née Stewart) was the daughter of James Stewart Law (q.v.), grand-daughter of the Hon. James Stewart (d. 1826), and niece of Robert Stewart (q.v.). She married (1) Henry Spooner and (2) Col. Eyre John Crabbe 02/06/1851 at St George Hanover Square.
She appears in the 1851 census as Elmina Spooner born Bath widow aged 39 'shareholder' at Oak Villa, Grosvenor Square Southampton and in the 1861 (as Crabb, fund holder), 1871 (private individual) and 1881 (annuitant) censuses at Glen Eyre House, North Stoneham Hampshire.
Henry Spooner died c. 1849. Will of Henry Spooner of All Saints Southampton proved 29/06/1849.
