Biography

Resident slave-owner in British Guiana, dying at New Amsterdam Berbice 09/07/1862. David Alston shows him as the same man as Charles Mackenzie Matheson of the Matheson family of Bennetsfield. The Rev. Charles Matheson, third son of Charles of Berbice, matriculated St John's Oxford 1850 aged 18.
