Resident and Auditor General in British Guiana, but in Britain at the time of Emancipation, signing for the compensation at the National Debt Office for his own and Jane W. Pollard's awards under British Guiana nos. 1205 and 1207 in late 1835 and early 1836. He was almost certainly the man (given as 'NBPollage') who vouched for the identity of Mary Harbin Chilcott (q.v.) at the NDO in 1836, when his address was given as 12 Colebrooke Terrace.
Brother and executor of Nathaniel Weekes Pollard (1792-1834) and uncle of Nathaniel Weekes Pollard (b. 1814), both of whom q.v. under 'Nathaniel Weekes Pollard.'
His father, John Pollard, had reportedly moved from Barbados to Demerara c. 1797 and owned a plantation called Spring Hill on the East Coast of Demerara. His mother was Elizabeth Gittens Branch, daughter of Thomas McIntosh Branch: Jane Weekes Branch, a sister of Elizabeth Gittens Branch, married Armell Pollard, John Pollard's brother.
