T71/880: claim by John Brown, as executor and trustee of Jno Ross, owner-in-fee and former owner of Clark's Court, where John Brown was estate manager (see Grenada claim no. 466; the will of John Ross, proved 04/09/1835, refers to Granton and Clark's Court according to the compensation record notes. The will has not been found to date by LBS. Counterclaim from Sir Claudius Stephen Hunter, Bart of Mortimer Hill, Berks, for a moiety of upper and lower Granton enslaved person, surviving mortgagee in fee, for £4100. Counterclaim (withdrawn) from members of the Ross family (Helen Jane, Margaret Udny, Mary and John), of Aberdeen, North Britain (Scotland), as mortgagees for £2450.
