Helen Jane Ross

Of Aberdeen, counterclaimant with other family members on the Granton estate in Grenada as mortgagees. The claim was withdrawn and half the compensation was paid to John Brown as executor of John Ross. Named as a residuary legatee in the will of her father John Ross (died 1833).

1. At Granton Lodge, Cuparstone Road, Old Machar, in the census of 1851 were John Ross senior's wife Helen Ross, age 69, annuitant, born Old Machar and her three daughters Helen Jane Ross, age 39, Margaret U., age 34, Mary Ross, age 29, and two female servants. All three daughters were born in Grenada.

2. Helen Jane Ross, age 45 years, born Grenada, West Indies, lived 30 years in Old Machar, daughter of John Ross Esquire of Clarks Court, Grenada and Helen Ross nee Carnegie, died 16/10/1855 at 9 St Mary's Place, Aberdeen, and was buried at St Nicholas Churchyard.
