T71/857: Frances Cox, St Ann, 'on behalf of herself and her two sisters, Eliza Mary Markham and Sarah Anna Parkinson, as joint owners-in-fee'.

T71/959: Frances Cox widow signed her own claim on behalf of all 3.

T71/49 p. 177: Frances Cox registered enslaved persons as joint owner with her 2 sisters in 1832.

Joseph Sturge and Thomas Harvey, The West Indies in 1837 (London, Hamilton, Adams, & Co., 1838) p. 207: 'As a proof that they did not complain, as a matter of course, those from one property Carlton Pen expressed themselves satisfied and said, they had all the indulgences that were customary under the old system.'

Jamaica Almanac (1833) shows Carlton registered to the 'estate of Roger Dobson' with 164 enslaved persons.
