Biography

Frances née Packharness or Packharnis[s], born Jamaica, living in England by the late 1830s: with her sisters Sarah Anna Parkinson and Eliza Mary Markham (both of whom q.v.), Frances Cox was awarded the compensation for the Carlton estate in Jamaica as owners-in-fee.

  1. Probably the Frances Cox, wife of Thomas Cox of Tottenham, whose son the Rev. John Cox married Frances' niece Anna Maria Markham c. 1839.  John Cox signed for the compensation on behalf of Frances Cox at the NDO. In 1851 Frances Cox, born Jamaica, aged 70, 'mother' was living in the Farm House apparently adjacent to the Rectory of the Rev. John and Anna Maria Cox at Walgrave in Northamptonshire
