One of the five sons and co-heirs of James Schaw of Schawfield, two of whom he [Samuel Lyddall Schaw] had bought out prior to his death c. 1778. He also acted as attorney in this period.

Probably the Charles Schaw shown as co-owner, with Edward Schaw, of the Schawfield estate in Trelwany between 1800 and 1811. Charles Schaw the son of Charles Schaw of Schawfield (d. c. 1974, will proved in London 1796) certainly inherited half the estate under his father's will.
