William Casey filed the return for the 1832 Trelawney slave register in his capacity as attorney to John Mitchell.

William Mitchell died in 1823 leaving his Jamaica possessions to his nephew John Mitchell. The Jamaica Almanacs continued to list William as the owner after his death up until the 1826 edition (which was based on the givings in from the March Quarter 1825). Thereafter and up until the abolition of slavery in 1833 the property was listed as belonging to the 'heirs of William Mitchell.'

1832 [EA] - → Tenant-for-life

William Mitchell died in 1823 leaving his Jamaica property to his nephew John Mitchell. The Jamaica Almanac listed George's Valley as under the ownership of the 'heirs of William Mitchell' between 1826 and 1833. The 1832 slave register for Trelawney recorded John Mitchell as the 'Tenant for life'.
