Daughter and residuary devisee of William Breakenridge (q.v.), a coffee planter in Port Royal, Jamaica.
Born in Jamaica 15/08/1816 and baptised there 29/04/1818, "daug of Dorothy Hall a free Mustee by Wm Brakenridge". Daughter of William Breakenridge (q.v.) and residuary devisee of 1/3 of his estate.
Of Campbeltown, Argyllshire, when she married local brewer/distiller Gavin Cordner 14/12/1833. Living at Longrow, Campbeltown, in the census of 1851, age 34, “Semptress”, with her son James age 11, born Campbeltown, and daughter Isabella age 8, born “America”. In the same census, her daughter Ann, age 13, was living with her aunt and uncle John Breakenridge and Isabella Breakenridge (q.v.), in a separate household but also at Longrow, Campbeltown. In 1871 she was still at Longrow but this time in the household of Duncan McNair, where she was age 54, “Farmers widow”. In 1881 she was living by herself, age 63, at 109 Longrow Street, “Annuitant”. In 1891 she was at Glebe Street, Lorne Place, Campbeltown, age 73, with her daughter Ann, age 52. Her daughter Isabella married Angus McCallum in Campbeltown, 18/07/1867; the censuses of 1871, 1881 and 1891 give her place of birth c. 1843 as Toronto, Canada.
Died at 66 Nelson Street, Glasgow, 28/03/1900 age 83. Informant was her daughter Isabella McCallum.
