Rev. Henry Mair, clergyman, born in Dominica, husband of Elizabeth Matravers Mair, awardee of the compensation for the enslaved people on Seven Rivers estate and Old Hope Pen as trustee of a mortgage of the late Martin Williams. The mortgage appears to have been entered into by his father John Mair (q.v.) in 1805: Rev. Henry Mair and his sisters were beneficiaries under the will of John Mair of Clifton who had also been a slave-owner in Dominica.
In the censuses of 1841, 1851, 1861 and 1871 living in Donhead Lodge, Tisbury, Wiltshire, born in Dominica. Will proven 30/08/1879 by Elizabeth Matravers Mair, widow, effects £4000. Daughter Elizabeth born c. 1830 in Clifton, Gloucestershire.
