Son of Richard Crewe of Jamaica and Milborough Allpress. Claimant for 1/3 of compensation for Raymond's Estate in Vere, Jamaica; his share was awarded to J. Brooks Yates (q.v.) as mortgagee. Brother of Rev. Willoughby Crewe and Lieut. Col. John Frederick Crewe (both q.v.).
Born 1786. Married Frances Hare, daughter of J. Hare.
Will of Richard Crewe Major in Hon. EIC [made in 1828] proved 21/10/1837. He left his property including his one-third interest in Raymond's to secure an annuity of £700 p.a. to his wife Fanny and then to his five sons.
