John Pink of the parish of St Ann, Jamaica.

Funeral expenses to be moderate and at the discretion of my executors.

To my son William Hyde Pink my gold watch and seals.

My executors to distribute among my servants or such of them as they may consider worthy of it all or part of my wearing apparel and also to furnish my servants generally with mourning.

I manumit my slave called William Pink Jackson and an annuity of £10 currency per annum to him.

To my son William Hyde Pink two horses as he may think proper to choose for his own use. Two horses be retained for the use of my daughters now residing at Mount Plenty and one for my other son George Pink so long as they shall reside in Jamaica. My executors to sell by public auction all the remainder of my horses and all my chaises and carriages with harnesses except the horses and their followers if any named Thompson Lady Rowley and Maria; the money from the sale shall form part of my residuary estate.

To my reputed daughter Sarah Pink of the parish of St Dorothy £100 currency and to each of her children that may be living at the time of my decease £50 currency.

To my executors, their heirs and assigns £1000 currency upon trust to invest in Island or Government securities and pay the interest and dividends to my said reputed daughter Sarah Pink and her assigns during her natural life and at her death the divide the £1000 between her children. If she has no children living at the time of her death then the sum to form part of my residuary estate.

To Ann Cochran £20 currency to purchase mourning and £100 sterling payable in London for her attention and kindness to my children during the last illness of my respected friend and housekeeper Rebecca Hiatt mother of the said children.

To Elizabeth Brown £10 currency to purchase mourning and as a token of my sense of her attention and kindness to my youngest daughter Eliza Ann Pink during her late repeat illness at Thatch Hill.

To my reputed children John Hiatt Pink, Emma Susannah Pink, the said William Hyde Pink, Caroline Hall Pink, George Pink, Emily Pink, Martha Pink and the said Eliza Ann Pink £50 sterling each payable as soon after my death as possible. They be furnished with mourning at the expense of my estate.

To my much loved brother Thomas Pink of South Harting in Sussex, England, £60 sterling per annum payable in England in addition to £40 sterling which I now allow him so he shall receive £100 per annum free from all deductions during the term of his natural life.

To the children of Thomas Pink who may be living at the time of my decease £50 sterling.

To the children of my late sister-in-law Susannah Pink of Walworth near London named Sarah, George and Edmund or such of them who may be living at the time of my decease £100 sterling each payable in London free from all deductions to buy them mourning.

To my two children Martha Pink and Eliza Ann Pink £1000 sterling each to make their fortunes in equal or nearly so to those of their brothers and sisters who are each entitled to the sum of £2000 sterling under the will of their grandfather the late Honorable John Hiatt deceased.

To my son John Hiatt Pink £140 sterling per annum payable half yearly in London in lieu of any claims whatever which the said John Hiatt Pink may have or pretend to have upon me except the several bequests hereinbefore given to him which together ith £80 bequeathed to him by the will of his mother Rebecca Hiatt deceased will amount to about £200 per annum in consideration of which annuity the said John Hiatt Pink shall not participate along with his brothers in the devise hereinafter made of my residuary real and personal estate.

My executors to sell my share in the Barque called the John Pink now in trading to this island giving the preference to Robert Nixon the present Master of the said Barque he paying one third down and the remainder in one, two and three years.

To my executors my coffee plantation called Sunbury and my pen called Mocho in Clarendon and all the slaves and stock thereon upon trust to sell them after my decease except those who may be permanently placed on Drax Hall in the parish of St Ann, cattle and stock therein respectively, the proceeds to be placed in trust for the purposes hereinafter mentioned.

All the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, real and personal, consisting principally of my sugar estate called Drax Hall with the slaves and stock in St Ann subject to the payment of my just debts and of the legacies and annuities hereinbefore given, I bequeath to my executors upon trust. All my personal estate to be invested in the public funds of Great Britain or of Jamaica. The produce of Drax Hall to be consigned to Messrs. Henry and William Davidson of London merchants so long as they shall sell it to the satisfaction of my trustees.

£60 sterling per annum towards the maintenance of my children Caroline Hall Pink, Emily Pink, Martha Pink and Eliza Ann Pink until the youngest of them attain the age of 21 years.

Emma Susannah Pink, William Hyde Pink, Caroline Hall Pink, George Pink, Emily Pink, Martha Pink and Eliza Ann Pink, at the age of 21 to be paid £80 sterling each. Then upon trust to pay the principal monies with the accumulated interest amongst my said children in equal shares as soon as the youngest shall attain the age of 21. If any of them die before this and have no lawfully begotten heirs then their share to be divided equally among the survivors. The children to share Drax Hall estate as tenants in common.

By the will of the late Honorable John Hiatt deceased I have been appointed and am acting as sole trustee and executor. Such trustee and executorship will devolve to my trustees and executors, I recommend my trustees and executors to employ Alexander Geddes Esquire or some person skilled in cultivating and properly managing estate to superintend the cultivation and management of the estates of the said John Hiatt and of Drax Hall until my son William Hyde Pink shall attain the age of 23 years, and to pay such person the annual sum of £300 currency, one moity from the estates of John Hiatt and the other moiety from my estate.

When my son William Hyde Pink attain the age of 21 years he shall assist the said manager for the term of 2 years after which he shall take sole management upon himself.

Bartholomew Ibbott Williams of Kingston Esquire and Colin Mackenzie of Spanish Town Esquire trustees and executors and guardians of my children. My son William Hyde Pink to be a trustee, executor and guardian from the age of 23 but not before.

To the said Bartholomew Ibbott Williams and Colin Mackenzie £20 each to purchase a mourning ring.

Rebecca Hiatt departed this life on or about the 28/12/1829 and devised her moity of Up Park pen in St Ann and the slaves cattle and stock thereon to me upon trust, to maintain her children John Hiatt Pink, Emma Susanna Pink, William Hyde Pink, George Pink, Caroline Hall Pink, Emilly Pink, Martha Pink and Eliza Ann Pink and to allow them £80 per annum from the age of 21 years until the youngest attains that age and then upon trust to sell any part of the estate and divide it equally among them. I consider for the benefit of the said children that the said moity should be sold but if not before my decease I hereby direct my trustees and executors to dispose of it.
