Sophie Louisa Colleton Graves was baptised 26/10/1789 in Buckerell, Devon, the daughter of Richard Graves and his wife Louisa Carolina. She married Tristram Ratcliffe [II, q.v.], the owner of Exeter estate, 26/08/1813 in Buckerell, Devon. Tristram Ratcliffe II had died by 1826 where in the Slave Register, 185 enslaved people were listed as being in the possession of John Ashley as attorney to Mrs Sophia L.C. Ratcliffe.
Sophia Louisa Graves-Colleton [sic] married Maximilian August Baron of Ketelhodt, 15/12/1830, in St James' Westminster. They had a daughter, Carolina Julia, baptised in the Lutheran Church in Aachen, Prussia, 19/03/1832.
Maximilian Ketelhodt claimed unsuccessfully for compensation for Exeter Estate in 1834. The compensation was awarded to Joseph Brooks Yates, as mortgagee and purchaser under certain indentures and as judgement creditor, October 1825.
