???? - 1775
Early purchaser of land in Dominica, shown as original purchaser of St Andrew Lot no. 62 (300 acres) with Garrett Burton and of St John Lot no. 26 (41 acres) with Henry Thornton, both as 'John Woodwill.'
Will of John Woodville merchant of the island of Dominica [but at present at Philadelphia] proved 23/04/1776. He left his property in trust [his trustees were William Thornton, Henry Poole and Benjamin Eyre merchants of the City of London]: his mother was to receive £1000 and his lands in the county of Cumberland, and the residue of his estate was to go equally between his brothers and sisters. He confirmed his power of attorney to Lewis Isaac Judah for his affairs in Dominica.
In 1768, John Woodville of London had bought one moiety of the Woodford Hill estate in St Andrew Dominica comprising 82 acres cleared land and 168 acres of woodland for £1215 from Garrett Burton.
