Biography

Robert Paul, President of the Council of St Vincent, owner of Kingstown estate, father of Rev. Charles Paul (q.v.), and grandfather of the publisher Charles Kegan Paul. In the 1770s, with Coll Turner, with whom he was already established in St Vincent, he had received a power of attorney to set up the Tobago operation of Houstoun & Co., Turner leading the organisational effort and Paul remaining committed in St Vincent.
