Shown as mortgaging his North Wales estate on Nevis to Protheroes and Claxton of Bristol in 1806. It is not clear whether the Butler Claxton shown as the owner in the Slave Registers 1817 and 1820 is the same man or is in fact his cousin Butler Thompson Claxton (q.v.).
