29th Oct 1759 - ????
Son and heir of the Jamaican slave-owner George Paplay (q.v.). Edward Manning Paplay appeared briefly in 1783-1784 as the owner of two estates and the enslaved people on them inherited from George Paplay, and a man of the same name appeared in 1826 as the owner of 13 enslaved people in Kingston Jamaica, but otherwise nothing further has been traced of his death and no English will has been found for him. In 1803 when his aunt Ann Baxter (q.v.) made her will and left him her interest in St Toolie's, she showed him as residing in Wales.
