Biography

Slave-owner on Dominica and son of Edward Hunt of Oundle (q.v.). His estate(s) have yet to be definitively identified, but with Rowland Hunt of London he was mortgagee of Capuchin estate in Dominica c. 1775, and that estate later passed to the heir of Thomas Hunt. Thomas Hunt of Oundle and Rowland Hunt [the latter given as of Dominica] were also parties to a deed dated 1786 with Thomas Wolley of Southampton Street Bloomsbury (q.v.), Edward Hunt senior of Oundle and Edward Hunt of London then at St Vincent concerning the West Wood and Rodrigues estates on St Vincent and Mount Aeolus on Dominica.

  1. Will of Thomas Hunt of Oundle proved 04/03/1817. In the will he left his English real estate to Bridget Hunt the wife of his cousin the Rev. Thomas Hunt of Benefield Northants, and his estates in Dominica to his nephew Thomas Welsh [sic] Hunt subject to annuities to Henrietta and Susannah Dalbiac [sp?].
