One of three co-investors with John Deffell and Thomas Nevill (both of whom q.v.) in a group of estates and enslaved people in Jamaica in the mid-1790s: Thomas Nevill's will identified this man as Charles Edward Lewis late of Powis Place.
Will of Charles Edward Lewis of West Molesey Surrey proved 26/05/1800. The will is simple, leaving an annuity of £100 p.a. to the wife of his brother James Lewis of Powis Place, and the rest of his unspecified estate to James Lewis.
His brother and heir James Lewis was the architect, who died at Powis Place in 1820.
