The youngest of four daughters of George Leslie, a merchant in Aberdeen, and his wife Katharine nee Irvine. The daughters were the heirs of their maternal uncle Dr Charles Irvine who co-owned Friendship estate in St Thomas-in-the-East, Jamaica. Married John Gordon in St Nicholas's, Aberdeen, 27/04/1786. A son, Charles Irvine, baptised in the same place, 19/05/1792.
