Daughter of William Bennett and Elizabeth Corne Bennett nee Pownall. Inherited a share in Silver Hill estate in St Andrew, Jamaica, in trust on the death of her uncle James Corne Pownall in 1824. Living with her sister Emmeline Corne Mais nee Bennett and her family in Westbury on Trym in the censuses of 1841 and 1851. According to the 1851 census she was born c. 1806 in Oxfordshire.
