  1. Online sources give Robert Ouchterlony as the brother of James Renny Ouchterlony (q.v.) and the son of Robert Ouchterlony of Montrose, Scotland and his wife Ann nee Renny.

  2. Robert, son of Robert Ouchterlony , merchant, and Ann Renny, was baptised in Montrose in June 1775. An earlier Robert with the same parents, baptised in 1770, had presumably died young.
