Biography
Merchant of St Kitts, dying there c. 1765, and conceivably the father of James Sadler of St Kitts (q.v.).
- Will of William Sadler merchant of St Christopher [made in September 1765] proved in London 07/04/1766. He left £4000 to his sister Mercy Sadler; £500 to William Sadler the son of Mary Coker of Nevis single woman; £500 to Catherine Sadler daughter of Mary Burrough single woman of St Christopher; 200 guineas to his clerk Edward Hobbs on condition Hobbs stayed in St Christopher and assisted in gathering in the debts owed to Sadler until all were settled. He left his property as a whole including 'negroes' in trust for the benefit of James Sadler, son of Mrs [sic] Francis Rogers single woman of Nevis, at 21. His trustees included William Reeve and Samuel Davis of Bristol.
