Anglican clergyman, slave-owner on Nevis, owner of the North Wales estate there, and then holding a parish in St Kitts. Son of Robert Pemberton of Nevis who died before 1778.
Vere Langford Oliver, Caribbeana Vol. VI pp. 41 and 59. In Caribbeana Vol. II p. 238 Oliver showed: (a) Robert Pemberton in 1786 curate of Trinity Palmetto Point on St Kitts; and (b) 'Rev. Robert Pemberton. On referring to Vol. I., 268, it will be noticed that he was Rector of St. James', Nevis, 1757-95, then of St. George, St. Kitts, 1795, till his death 1812.' Vol. I p. 268 showed him as matriculating Queen's College Oxford 16/12/1767 aged 18 and dying in 1812 aged 63.
