James Fyffe had been a partner in Stirling Gordon (q.v.) from at least 1795 until 1828. The former partners in Stirling Gordon appear as claimants as mortgagees on two estates in Jamaica, the compensation for which was recorded as awarded only to those partners still in place in 1836.
