One of the reputed children of John Fairbairn [q.v.], bequeathed ownership of one enslaved person, Paxton, in the will of his father (written in 1820, proved in 1821). The slave register of 1821 lists John as a minor and "mulatto". He registered ownership of Pakerson [sic] himself in 1829.
