Awarded the compensation for 8 enslaved people on St Vincent after his wife provided an affidavit consenting to the award to him, and counterclaimed with her, apparently unsuccessfully, for the compensation on the Friendship estate, also on St Vincent, the compensation for which was paid to Duncan Forbes Sutherland as receiver. The couple were in Britain in 1835-6, but no trace of them thereafter has yet been found.

T71/1066 affidavit for St Vincent no. 357 signed by George Worrall magistrate for county of Gloucester: Deborah Margaret Osborn the wife of Thomas Osborn of St Vincent appeared and being examined separate and apart from her said husband did declare that of her own free will she did consent and agree that the compensation money ...should be paid over to her said husband.' [claim was by Thomas Osborn and wife by attorney ]. John Athill of 8 Brunswick Terrace wrote T71/1610 seeking Mr Osborn's certificate for St Vincent no. 357. T71/1610 letter from Thomas Osborn Frenchay nr Bristol 21/12/1835 re counterclaims on St Vincent nos. 691 & 696.
