Isabella Pallmer Massy-Dawson

Daughter of James Hewitt Massy Dawson and Eliza Jane Dennis, wife of Richard Duckworth Dunn, co-owner of Prospect Pen and Pembroke Hall estates in St Mary, Jamaica, which she inherited from her mother.

1. Born on 18/01/1812 and baptised on 23/06/1815 in St Marylebone, Middlesex. Daughter of James Hewitt Massy Dawson and Eliza Jane Dennis. Married Richard Duckworth Dunn, a Captain in the 2nd Dragoon Guards, 02/08/1838. Died 19/01/1860 in Kingston, Surrey.

2. Living with her aunt Maria Frances Pallmer (q.v.), her husband and three of her children in Portsmouth Road, Kingston, Surrey, in the census of 1851. From the 1851 and 1861 censuses, the births of her children given as Manchester, Lancashire (1839), Edinburgh, Scotland (1841), Kandy, Ceylon (1844) and Kingston, Surrey (1848).

3. She inherited Prospect Estate from her mother Eliza Jane Dennis, who had in turn inherited from her father when aged 13. Co-claimant with her siblings Capt James Massy Dawson (q.v.), Rev. John Massy Dawson (q.v.), Louisa Massy Dawson (q.v.), Charles Nicholas Pallmer Massy Dawson (q.v.), Francis Dennis Massey[sic] Dawson (q.v.) and Robert Bolton Massy Dawson (q.v.), her brother-in-law Robert Mont[agu] Poore (q.v.) and her aunt Maria Francis Pallmer (q.v.).
