Biography

London banker, partner in Praed Mackworth (q.v.), awarded the compensation with Viscount St Vincent as trustees of Charles Blair and  as trustees under the will of Charles W. Mitchell for East and West Prospect estates in Jamaica, and with his brother-in-law Rev. Henry Chaplin and Rev. James Ellice as mortgagees of Clark's Court on Grenada.

  1. Elected MP for Lyme Regis with John Thomas Fane 1818.

  2. Baptised St Marylebone 11/02/1785, son of Henry and Ann Fane. Married 02/06/1815 Elizabeth Chaplin, daughter of Charles Chaplin (1759-c.1821) and Elizabeth Taylor, of Blankney Lincolnshire.  In 1841 Vere Fane Banker aged 56 was living at Nottingham Place with his wife Elizabeth aged 56, son Neville aged 21 and daughters Emily 19, Emma 17 and Georgiana 14.  In 1851 Vere Fane aged 66 Banker born Marylebone was living at 11 Nottingham Place with wife Elizabeth also aged 66 (born Blankney Lincolnshire), son Neville aged 30, also a banker, and daughter Georgiana aged 24. In 1861, the couple, each aged 76, was living at The Hall, Little Ponton Lincolnshire.

  3. Will of Vere Fane, late of Little Ponton and of Fleet Street London, Banker who died 18/01/1863 at Little Ponton proved 10/02/1863 by William Dashwood Fane nephew and Col. Edward Birch Reynardson [son-in-law], effects under £20,000.
