Trustee of Mount Lebanus estate in Jamaica, son of David Laing of Jamaica.

  1. 'At Weymouth [Dorset], by the Rev. John West, M.A., the Rev. David Laing of St Peter's College [sic] Cambridge, younger son of the late David Laing Esq. of Jamaica, to Mary Elizabeth, second daughter of John West Esq. of the same island.'

Ord[ained] deacon and priest 1824. Chaplain of the Middlesex Hospital 1840-7.  P.C. Of Holy Trinity, Haverstock Hill, St Pancras, London 1847-57. R[ector] of St Olaves-by-the-Tower, 1857-60. Active in the foundation of North London Collegiate School for Girls. Founder of Governesses' Asylum, Kentish Town, 1849; Hon Sec. 1849-60. Married 14/04/1824 Mary Elizabeth, dau[ghter] of John West of Jamaica. Author, Sermons etc. Died Aug 6 1860 at St Olave's London, aged 59. M.I. In St Olave's.

  3. The will of Rev. David Laing late of Mornington Road and of the parish of St Olave Hart Street who died 06/08/1860 who died at the Rectory St Olave proved by Mary Elizabeth Laing, the widow, effects under £8000.
