???? - 1849
Resident slave-owner, awarded the compensation for three estates in Barbados. For a man of this scale of property, surprisingly little trace of him has been found.
Edward Lake Hinds (of St James) married Mary Elizabeth Lewis in St Peter, Barbados, 07/04/1831. Two children baptised in Barbados: Edward Lake (1834, St James) and Mary Elizabeth Lake (1839, St Michael). There was an earlier Edward Lake Hinds whose son Jacob Alleyne, also with a wife named Mary Elizabeth, was baptised in St Joseph in 1807.
His daughter Mary Elizabeth Lake Hinds is known to have married Daniel Toler Thomas Maunsell, of an Irish family, in Dublin 16/06/1859, when her address was given as 38 Lower Gardiner Street.
