Alexander Cruikshank junior

Alexander Cruikshank of Keithock, claimed unsuccessfully for the compensation for the enslaved people on Langley Park estate in St Vincent (for whom the compensation was paid to Patrick Cruikshank, his first cousin) and also counterclaimed unsuccessfully for part of the compensation for Peter's Hope on St Vincent.

1. Baptised 25/03/1800 in St Vincent. Living in 1841 at Keithock House Angus (or Forfarshire) with wife Mary and two children. Part of a local concentration of Cruikshank family members including his uncle Alexander Cruikshank of Stracathro (q.v.) and his cousin James (1795-1842) who lived at Langley Park (previously Ecclesjohn), renamed for the family's St Vincent estate. Son of John Cruikshank of St Vincent, and grandson of Donald.

2. Married his cousin Mary Crui[c]shank, daughter of James Cruikshank of Langley Park, 12/2/1821.

T71/892 St Vincent claim no. 453 (Langley Park), which identifies him as Alex. Cruikshank junior, and claim no. 642 (Peter's Hope), which identifies him as of Keithock.
