Awarded the compensation for the Bissex Hill and New Castle estates in Barbados. In Britain at Liverpool in 1829 and in 1836, perhaps temporarily, but then in Britain by the time of the 1851 census.

1. 9/12/1829 baptism at St George, Everton Lancashire, of John Higginson Haynes, child of Richard Haynes gentleman and Jane Alleyne, born 3/11/1829, of Everton Crescent.

2. In 1851 R[ichar]d Haynes aged 58 annuitant born Barbados was living at Ashley Villa, Richmond Park Road, Clifton with wife Jane aged 41 born Barbados and four servants including Leah Redwar aged 58 widow also born Barbados.

3. Will of Richard Haynes Esq., formerly of Clifton, then of the Island of Barbados, late of Clifton who died 15/11/1859 proved 10/2/1860 by Jane Alleyne Haynes of Tyndall Villa Clifton widow, Joseph Alleyne Haynes of Barbados and John Higginson Haynes of Woolley Green near Romsey, the sons, effects under £100,000 resworn June 1860 under £90,000.

Barbados nos. 3964, 4158, 4159 and 4160. T71/1611 letter from Richard Haynes, Liverpool, dated 23/2/1836: entitled to comp for himself and his daughters, how to do it, want it to pass through as few hands as possible because of commission. Refers also to nos. 4158, 4159 and 4160. Has the valuation report 'as I presume I am not to receive the amount therein specified, I shall be glad to know the sum I am likely to receive.'
