1775
[Name] Beaulieu
In March 1775, a group of estates on Grenada 'late of Messrs Deponthieu' were advertised to be sold at auction in London on '28 June next' [1775]. The estates were the Beaulieu and Tuilleries sugar estates, a coffee plantation called Mon Desir, part of a coffee plantation called Capitole and two tracts of woodland, one called Choisi near Tuilleries and another near Beaulieu, and several houses and tracts of land in St George's 'with the Negroes etc.' This package of estates is recognisable as that for which John Julius Angerstein (q.v.) became trustee.
