Daughter of Hon. Thomas Jarvis and his wife Mary Elizabeth Shepherd Freeman née Jarvis (both q.v.). Claimed unsuccessfully for compensation for arrears of jointure on Thibou’s Estate in Antigua due to her mother; the compensation was awarded to her aunt Christiana Richardson (q.v.) based on a prior claim from the will of her grandfather, also called Thomas Jarvis.
Mary Grace Henrietta Lindsay, daughter of William Chacon Lindsay and Mary Wilhelmina was baptised 19/09/1836 at St James, Paddington. The family were living at Castle Hill Crescent, Reading Berkshire, in the census of 1861: William C. Lindsay age 68, "Captain Half Pay Artillery", born West Indies, with wife Mary age 59 also born West Indies, daughter Ella C. age 21 and 2 female servants. Living at Carlton Villas, 5 Compton Road, Winchester, Hampshire, in the census of 1871: William C. Lindsay, age 78, Mary W age 69, Mary G. H. age 34 and Ella C. age 31 with 2 female servants. Very likely match in the 1841 census at Minchinhampton, Gloucestershire: Wm Lindsey age 48, Captn H[alf] P[ay] R[oyal] A[rtillery], Mary age 38, Ann [sic] age 4 and Ella age 1.
“Wilhelmina Jarvis married July 1835 and died at Winchester 16 July 1884, aet. 82, leaving two daughters Mary and Ella.”
"The Will of Mary Wilhelmina Lindsey late of Carlton Villa Compton-road in the City of Winchester Widow who died 16 July 1884 at Carlton Villa was proved at Winchester by Mary Grace Henrietta Lindsey and Ella Caroline Lindsey both of Carlton Willa Spinsters the Daughters the Executrixes. Personal Estate £2415 14s 8d."
