Parliamentary Papers p. 308. The award was divided between: Christiana Richardson (£1082 3s 7d); Thomas Ward, John Athill, Rev. Alexander Scott, Thomas Ridding (£2666 13s 4d); Hard. Earle, John Hayward Turner (£445 15s 8d).

T71/877: Claim by Bertie E. Jervis [Member of Council]. Counterclaims from Capt Wm Chacom [Chacon?] Lindsey and Mary Wilhelmina (his wife) and Grace Jarvis of Cheltenham,  Gloucestershire, for arrears of jointure due to Mary Elizabeth Shepherd Freeman Jarvis (mother of Mary Wilhelmina and Grace Jarvis, and married to the Hon. Thomas Jarvis Member of Council of Antigua). Counterclaim from Hardman Earle and J. Turner of Liverpool by J.H. Forbes, Ely Place, under an agreement for £5000 and interest (admitted). Counterclaim of Christiana Richardson, of Southampton, widow of the late Major Richardson, late Christiana Jarvis, spinster, legatee under the will of her late father (also called Thomas Jarvis, the father of Thomas Jarvis, above), £1700 principal and £1400 for interest.

T71/1592 p. 213: letter, dated 22/08/1835, to Joseph Maberly, of 17 Kings Road, Bedford Row, re. counterclaim vs Bertie James [sic] Hibous Estate Jamaica [sic]: 'the only counterclaim appears to be yours.'

T71/1592 p 135: letter dated 12/5/1835 to Rev. Alex Scott, 38 Pulteney St., Bath [Somerset]: 'the enclosed documents, purporting to be counterclaims in respect of certain slave property in the colonies of Antigua and Tobago, appear to have been forwarded to this Office by you, and I am...directed to return them as not having been drawn up in the form prescribed by their General Rules'.

T71/1609: letter dated 02/11/1836 from Chas Druce: the apportionment was altered after the hearing, it should have been 'Arrears £1082 3s 7d Cash; to be purchased £2790 14s 0d consols.'

T71/1622: includes the adjudication of the Commissioners, dated 24/10/1836: Christiana Richardson had an annuity of £180 Antiguan under a deed of 1782, and other claims under trust. Thomas Ward (merchant of New City Chambers), John Athill (ditto), Rev. Alex Scott of Pulteney St., Bath [Somerset], and Thomas Ridding of Southampton, solicitor, were all trustees for Christiana Richardson and assigns and successors.

T71/877: shows 333 enslaved persons for this estate.
