Son of Dugald Campbell of Saltspring, the younger, and Susanna Johnson. Bequeathed an annuity of £100 p.a. by his father and enslaved people (and probably land at Cave Valley Settlement) by his mother. Identified as of London in his father's will (written 1813) and as in England in his mother's will (written in 1809).
