Evan (or Ewen) Baillie Sutherland

One of the heirs of his uncle James Sutherland, owner of Waterloo estate in St Vincent.

  1. Evan Baillie Sutherland, son of George Sackville Sutherland and his wife Jean Mackay, was born at Uppat and baptised 15/04/1800.

  2. Lieutenant Ewen Baillie Sutherland Royal Navy had by his spouse Mrs Elizabeth Baillie McKenzie a child born at Milmount in this parish baptised by the name of Evina Baillie. The child was born on the 19th October last. Witnesses Mrs McKenzie & Miss McKenzie, Milmount. Baptised 26/01/1831.

  3. Ewen Baillie Sutherland became a lieutenant in the Royal Navy 08/09/1827.

  4. Ewen B. Sutherland was listed as a subscriber to Charles Shephard's An Historical Account of the Island of Saint Vincent, published in 1832.

  5. Deceased by the time of the slave register in 1832.
