William Gladstone

Son and executor of Robert Gladstone (d. 1835) and awarded with his brothers the compensation for the Great Valley estate in Manchester, Jamaica.

1. Cousin of the Prime Minister William Ewart Gladstone. Baptised 14/11/1809 Liverpool, son of Robert Gladstone (1773-31/08/1835) and Catherine Steuart. Glasgow University. Married Charlotte Watkin in 1837 (at least four sons, three daughters). East India merchant and magistrate and apparently a partner in Thomas Bonar & co., Russina merchants. Director of Allied Assurance. Governor of Christ's Hospital. Died 04/03/1873 at Queen's Gate, Kensington, leaving £120,000.
