Apparently resident, awarded the compensation for the Morgan Lewis estate in Barbados, the son of Rev. Scawen Kenrick Gibbons (1755-1801), who was in turn the son of Sir John Gibbons 2nd bart. and uncle of Sir John Gibbons 4th bart. (q.v.).
Scawn Kenrick Gibbons married Christian Skeete in St Peter, Barbados, 20/03/1783. They had ten children: Kitty (born and baptised 1784 St Peter, married Kenrick Francis Saunders, 30/03/1807 at Southampton All Saints); William (born and baptised 1785 St Peter, died 03/05/1788 and buried in Bath Abbey, England); Elizabeth (born and baptised 1786 in St Peter, died 15/07/1877 in Bath, Somerset, England, effects under £1,500); Martha (twin of Elizabeth); Charlotte (born and baptised 1790 in Walcot, Somerset, England); Scawen Kendrick (born and baptised 1792, Walcot); Francis Edward (born and baptised 1794, Walcot); Anne Brathwaite (born and baptised 1795, Walcot, married John Hothersall Pinder 1819 in Barbados); Henry Ashley (born 1796, baptised 1797, Walcot); Mary Skeete (born and baptised 1799, Walcot).
Father of Ann Brathwaite Gibbons who married Rev. John Hothersal Pinder 16/08/1819 at St Andrew Barbados and died 15/01/1892 at Maynard Cottage West Malvern England. (See also entry for Francis Ford Pinder.)
