Elizabeth Brodie née Shaw, wife of John Buchan Brodie (q.v.), one of a group of Shaw family claimants on Bishops Mount in St Mary Jamaica, shown under the name of Harriet Campbell from 1811-1833.
"Edinburgh 11 May 1818. John Buchan Brodie Esqr W.S. St Andrews Parish and Elizabeth Tucker Shaw St Georges Parish Daughter of the late Dr David Shaw Jamaica that the parties were lawfully Married 14 August last Certified by the Parties in the presence of Charles Oliphant Esqr W.S. & Alexr Hamilton Shaw Merchant Leigh and Brother to the Bride, Signed by the parties and the said Charles Oliphant & Alexr Hamilton Shaw."
Elizabeth's mother Henrietta Campbell died aged 63 at Bishop's Mount Jamaica in October 1832. Her burial record identifies her as "Quadroon".
Elizabeth Tucker Brodie (nee Shaw) died 28/12/1848 in Dublin where she lived from ca 1839 with her unmarried daughter Sarah Shaw Brodie and her husband John Buchan Brodie.
