T71/873: claim by Richard Barrett and George Crawford Ricketts, as executors and trustees of R.B. Waite (deceased). Counterclaim, as judgement creditors, by the same Scottish group as St James claim no. 186. Assistant Commissioners report, dated 02/08/1836, states that this group appears entitled to the compensation for 85 enslaved persons. The counterclaim was withdrawn and then admitted.

Daughter of "free Mulatto" lodging-house-keeper Jane Charlotte Beckford (c. 1759-1825); possibly the daughter of George Ffrench, Clerk to the Jamaica Assembly. Spinster; independently wealthy slave-owner.

A cover note outlining the contents of the document.
