Claim Notes

Not listed in Parliamentary Papers.

T71/873: claim by Wm. Miller, as receiver in Palmer vs Montague. Counterclaim from Rebecca Ann Weeks, of England, as annuitant under a marriage settlement by the will of Jno Palmer (deceased). No note of award to Court.

B.W. Higman, Plantation Jamaica 1750-1850: capital and control in a colonial economy (Mona, Jamaica, University of West Indies Press, 2005) p. 159: adds 'Hawthorn & Shedden' in brackets after Rose Hall, but it is in the context of 'supplies', so Hawthorn & Shedden apparently were agents not owners (Higman is aware of receivership).

See also St James claim no. 431. The estate was owned in 1833 by the heirs of J. Rose Palmer.
