Kathleen Mary Butler, The Economics of Emancipation: Jamaica and Barbados 1823-1843 (Chapel Hill and London, University of North Carolina Press, 1995) p. 98: Elizabeth T. Howell held mortgages of £1071. She is not marked as resident. However, T71/553 pp. 373-3 shows that Elizabeth T. Howell registered 39 enslaved persons in 1834.
