Charles Clifton's nephew Marshall Waller Clifton, son of his brother Rev. Francis Clifton, has an entry in the Australian Dictionary of Biography as 'civil servant, colonizer and colonial politician.' The two brothers -Charles and Rev. Francis Clifton - were from a St Kitts family.
