Awarded of the compensation for the enslaved people on three estates in Jamaica as administrator of Archibald Campbell (q.v.), including Amity, the largest of the three. The Amity and Hopes estates (listed together) had been registered to 'Thomas Hill' in the Jamaica Almanacs of 1811, 1812, 1816 and 1818, and shown as sold by Thomas Hill sen. in 1818 in the 1820 Slave Registers, whereafter Amity appears separately. The Thomas Hill awarded part of the slave-compensation as administrator of Archibald Campbell for Amity and two other estates was probably the son of Thomas Hill sen. and might well be the same man as Thomas Hill junior (q.v.) appearing [after the death of Thomas Hill sen. c. 1828] as simply Thomas Hill.
