Slave-owner on Mauritius, and almost certainly a partner in Hunter, Arbuthnot & Co., which pioneered indentured labour in Mauritius as slavery ended.

  1. Administration of the will of Hugh Hunter late of Port Louis merchant and Lieutenant on Half Pay a widower who died 16/04/1867 at Table Mountain granted to Frances Bowers the daughter 03/01/1868, effects in England £3000.
