Rev. Isaac Whitehouse

Biography

Aberdeen estate in St Ann, Jamaica, was registered to Rev. Isaac Whitehouse in the Jamaica Almanac of 1840, Isaac Whitehouse was active in the 1820s in baptising enslaved people in and around Montego Bay, and appears to have been a non-conformist minister. It's not clear whether he owned the estate or was registered in a different capacity (as trustee, guardian etc), but it appears likely that post-emancipation he was involved in schemes to make land available to formerly enslaved people.
