Biography

London gold refiner, claimant for part of the compensation for the enslaved people on the Virgin Valley estate in Jamaica as mortgagee of 2/11ths for £1673 15s 4d 3/11/1828, when he was described as of Clapham Common. It is not yet clear whether he was connected with the Gray family who owned the estate or whether his mortgage was an arms-length transaction.
